Born and raised in Birmingham, Osman originally came to London to study anthropology at SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies). He blew his student grant on a Russian officers’ jacket, purchased for around £75 at Camden Market.
He set up his eponymous label in 2009. “I wanted to make clothes which were minimal, clean and tailored with an injection of fun.”
Hollywood’s red carpet scene can’t get enough of his elegant, architectural designs – Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez and Emily Blunt have all worn his clothes – but things really exploded when Beyoncé wore his jumpsuit to the Grammy’s in 2013. “The phone did not stop ringing.”
He spent his first big pay check on “a holiday to Bali.”
He switches off by having massages and going for a run.
